That school is about 10 minutes from my house. I was shopping around a year or so ago for something to cross train in and found that school. I read the website and thought I'd at least check it out but then I saw some of the videos...oh.
You'll be surprised to hear I never went along to find out more. -
You have to work the look.

He claims to have a BSc in Oriental Arts and Therapies from Trinity College London. TCL does mainly language teaching and dance/drama stuff, and I'm not sure if they have BSc courses. I also think that looks like the title of a BA type degree. I don't know though, and I'd need to look into it further.
EDIT: Hmmm, popping "Oriental Arts and Therapies" into google (with the quotes) turns up this http://taurinorum.com/kayten.it/testihtm/pageENG6.html Scroll down and you'll see that the guy on this page is claiming a PhD in the subject, also awarded by TCL. Odd.Last edited by CrackFox; 9/24/2009 7:18am at .

Plot thickens?
It appears that he is a "5th Dan Black Belt in Sha Soo Doo Jitsu Ryu", awarded from this dude - Anthony Elam
http://shapoeryu.tripod.com/index.html
Elam states on his website he has learnt many styels...but doesn't really elaborate. Apparently many of his documents were destroyed in a fire. He proudly states (alongside poor grammar and spelling) "our black belt's are refereed to as SHA RYU "NO" other organization in the world bares these name's
It appears Gomes cites Elam as a black sash on his website and 'teaches the style in the UK'. http://shapoeryu.tripod.com/id146.html
I wonder if the two have ever actually met, consdiring they are several thousand miles away. -
