Well if you listen to what he says in his videos and read what he wrote on youtube then he actually believed that he could do whatever he wanted without having any problems at all from the police.

He may have been deluded, he may have had a very close relationship with his local police, as suggested by the fact that he trained the wife of a local sheriff to be one of his female bodyguards.

Even if the local police turned a blind eye, or worse, to his activities this is now bigger than his local manor and hopefully this will be investigated properly by authorities other than his local police.
