Let me just put this out there in regards to the amount of people who were once friends of Cecchine’s that are now not friends of his. First, there were a slew of friends turned enemies that existed before the ICWA was formed. Those of us who were close to Cecchine via the ICWA’s formation also took to attacking those past friends turned enemies, basically at Cecchine’s request. He has a way of manipulating friends to do his dirty work by confiding in them regarding issues he’d like dealt with and then getting those friends to do the dirty work. Why would a bunch of new friends of his attack those past friends turned enemies? I wish I knew, but we did it and we truly believed what he was telling us was the truth; therefore we felt the need to defend him. Perhaps we were originally star struck by him, who knows. The funny thing is we defended him in regards to issues we weren’t privy to. He just has a way of getting you to feel bad for him and stand up in his place. Basically, those close friends developed via the ICWA were doing exactly what you, JeffG, are doing now, defending Cecchine and his “good name” based solely on what he personally tells you. Think about that for a bit. I am truly embarrassed that I was in that same position a few years back.
Ok, so, the ICWA members who became officers of the ICWA in 2003, later, actually within a year of the official formation of the ICWA, resigned from or were thrown out of the ICWA. Having been right there in the heart of the matter personally, those that were thrown out were thrown out for no reason aside from disagreeing with Cecchine. One, my friends Boyd, was even threatened physically and then thrown out. That was done during a live audio officer’s meeting and there were about five of us on the line when Tony told Boyd (who weighed all of about 150lbs and was 50 years old) that the next time he saw him, he was going to tear his arm off. All the officers and a good portion of the regular members were gone soon after, and within a year after that, the ICWA officially closed down.
Now, he has a new group of new people in his corner, a group who were not there during the controversial issues that are still today a topic of heated discussion. That new group of people is defending Cecchine in regards to issues that they were not privy to, just like his ICWA members did and the group before them did.
History shows every 4-5 years he has a new group of people in his corner defending him regarding issues that a previous group of his had to deal with. With each new group of “friends”, roughly 6 out of every 8 (my own guestimate based on past personal experience) end up against him regarding having been wronged in one form or another by him.
Is it possible that so many people turned against Cecchine due to those specific people being “bad” people who like to make things up? Or, is it more likely that one person is wrong and the many are right?
How could one man cause so much turmoil with so many people? Does the fault lie in the one man or with the masses that have walked away from him with not so nice things to say?
Also, keep in mind that a lot of the people who are considered to be Cecchine’s “enemies” have invested lots of time and money into Cecchine before coming to their own current conclusions and then speaking out against him.
Just something to consider before dragging yourself into something that you have no personal knowledge of aside from what one man, that you have very recently befriended, tells you. Could you, JeffG, be in the same shoes as the people you are “calling out” in 4-5 years from now? The odds are in favor of that happening.
Consider Occam’s razor in this situation, step back and look at things objectively, I wish I had back in 2002-2003.
