Yes, Martin is a walking contradiction...on so many levels.
He is talking about the WCSF. They only do combat sambo, not sport. Fedor got his start there, before FIAS. They don't wear head gear. Shin guards are optional I believe. The rules are basically the same technique wise (with a minor difference in how they score knockdowns from strikes I believe). They have a large worlds every year with many countries represented. Many people compete in both WCSF and FIAS. The main difference is that they actually follow the rules as writen...no quick stand-ups, etc.
If you are on facebook, you can read the discussion that ensued from the video, and resulted in Martin's blog post:
As a result of this and other past disagreements, Martin (or one of his supporters) is trying to troll me and darrin on FB. The guy created an account called "samboman josh". He is quite humerous and failing with his net fu.
you couldnt make these people up!
i think thats why its so hard to understand them
the sad part is there is no way to stop this?
even we right it here these guys will be out there makeing up stuff to massage themselves over.
i just cant see an end to all this :(
*puts on wiseman's cape&staff* Son, somethings you just have to live with. These idiots, Government graft/corruption, "Sex and the City 2", Soccer getting more popular...that kind of ****. Put a pic of Martin's face on your grappling dummy and ankle lock the piss out of him.

I hate to say it, but I have NEVER heard of Hoshin Kwon Bup, and technically speaking, I've heard that there are NO formal testing requirements for Combat Sambo. So therefore, the legitimacy of the Sambo ranking is questionable, but I am wondering as well, when was Hoshin Kwon Bup created anyways?
