July is Armbar Month
Snap, crackle, pop; it's not just for breakfast!
Thumb up, dumbass.
If Sun Tzu had written about his favorite grappling technique in The Art of War, it would have undoubtedly been on the subject of armbars. After all, there's an obvious strategic brilliance in using practically your entire body to isolate and attack a single limb of an opponent that Tzu would have appreciated.
Like most other joint attack-based submissions, it involves the simple principle of identifying the way a limb is supposed to move, and then forcing it to move completely ass-backwards until something crunches or you feel a polite, but insistent tapping sensation.
Responsible for 27% of UFC submission victories (thanks [Tycho?] tied with the rear naked choke, the Armbar is most effective submission used within the Octagon, and consequently deserves not only respect, but its own month here on Bullshido.
So if Armbars aren't your forte', then get your ass out there and spend the next month working on them. And if you're some kind of Armbar Wizard in a purple hat and robe, then take an apprentice or two and pass along your arcane knowledge.
And while you're at it, see if you can set a personal record for how many successful armbars you can pull off in training before the month's over.
I see no fail in this photo
That's because your kung fu is weak.
Why couldn't my jits instructors look like them?
This gives me "ideas." I'll have the mrs. try to armbar me the entire 4th of July weekend.
You'd have more fun if she triangled you

Ahhh crazy, a month for one of my favorit subs, nice. I will go out and armbar even more people.
I am glad to see this ancient Judo technique given the respect it deserves.
