Just watched a repeat of the Loiseau (sp?) vs McArthy fight. Upon closer inspection, it is clear that Loiseau used a jump back kick and not a standing back kick to hit McArthy. The advantage of the jump back kicks, supposedly, is that it is quicker to get off because their is no friction between the standing foot and the floor. The lack of ability to push off of the floor with the standing leg is offset by the forward momentum of the hips from the jump.
How many of you train jump back kicks and how do you set them up?
I usually only do them when pushing out of the clinch.
