I have not seen anything about the Phantom Gis, so it seems either no one has one or it's not popular in the US?
Anyway, I would like to give my two cents on my Phantom Gi (on their official site they only have rashguards and pants etc.) which I ordered from Austria.
I have had my blue Phantom for half a year now, washed it after every training (3-4 times a week). I air dried it and never had a problem simply because I washed it when I came back from training and immediately hung it up to dry.
The color is still very little faded and it shows no sign of wear. The collar is still as new. There is no stitching of the jacket on the back so no problem there either.
Only thing I have to mention as far as it comes to negative input: The pants are faaaaar too baggy. Other than that: A great Gi that I got for about 80 Euros (was a promotion, not sure about the price when the promotion stops.)
Omega Maniac Kimonos
Hey guys, just wanted to do a quick write up for Omega Maniac's Kimonos (OMK).
I hadn't heard of them before, but was in the realms of waiting around for the Shoyoroll gis to open up for ordering and waiting 6 months for development, but then I found these bad-boys.
They are a limited edition Kimono producer but make a set amount and sell them as soon as they are ready.
The style they have is quite great, I love the design and layout for the Kimono's while producing a great gi, they have added really cool aspects that lift the design on each of them.
I've be rolling in my Series 1 - "Blue Devil" since release (see below), they have a lot of the imagery on their Facebook page, and are quite active socially on Facebook http://www.omegamaniac.com/assets/images/dsc_4823.jpg.
The gi quality is fantastic, the stitching is great and I've had no issues from it at all. THe colours remain vibrant and love the iconic aspects over the kimono in subtle ways E.G. "Resistance is Futile" embroided across the back, lower bottom part of the kimono.
It's incredibly light, washes well, dries quick, have people asking about it at training. And it fits me really well (A4, 107kg, 6'2").
I've just ordered their new gi as well, the "Titan" (image below), their branding has shifted a little, but I think it's moved in a better direction (with the 'Omega' sigil), I was really hoping they call this one "Omega Red", heh, but still I'm happy: http://www.omegamaniac.com/Series-2-Titan_p_12.html
I'm really digging their kimonos, love the style, love I can have it 2-3 weeks after release (with shipping). They've started doing 'stash items' or 'free shipping' with their releases as well, and their customer service is incredibly quick and on the ball across Facebook + Email.
If you're looking for a new kimono/gi, or you're waiting on Shoyoroll, give these guys a go and I think you'll be plesantly surprised!
I'll be starting Judo soon, and in my country there are only a few judogi brands available: I've seen Adidas, Wacoku, and Daedo.
Does anyone know about the quality of Daedo judogis?, I've been unable to find reviews.
Just picked up one of these:
It's almost as light as my full ripstop gi, but the jacket is competition legal.
It is very comfortable with Cool-max in the shoulders, knees and crotch.
The attention to detail is excellent and it's supposed to be anti-microbial and pre-shrunk too.
I'm very happy with it so far.
Accurate review here:
Everything in the 2.0 version appears to be sold out. I sent them an e-mail asking when and if any more will be available anytime soon.

They are here too:
It's kind of funny that the gis are made in the PRC and have Japanese-ish imagery inside.
I was sooo hoping for a rising sun!
No such luck...
I sent them an e-mail last night around 10 pm Central ST asking when more of that version would be available in white. A rep from Hong Kong responded within minutes. He asked where I was located and put me in contact with their California rep when I told him I lived in Austin. I went to bed after that.

He also told me that they would ship the gi to me THAT DAY if I returned the CC card within a few hours.
The customer service appears to be top notch. Color me very impressed.
Any thoughts on Kataaro custom embroidered belts? I'm thinking of ordering one for my wife. She got her blue belt this year. It's expensive, maybe a bit flashy, but I figure she's likely to be blue for 2-4 years given how long it typically takes people to go from blue to purple up here. Was thinking of her initials and a spider, as spider guard is her favorite position. Anyone else have a custom belt?
On a side note, if I hadn't been wearing my current blue belt for as long as I have, I might be tempted to get one for myself as well. Oh well, there's always purple I suppose.
Given that Rupture is gone, is there a clear winner for a high-quality long length rash guard? I have a Rupture PTSi and I love it. I'm looking for a second long sleeve one, and was hoping for some advice.
I suggest checking out Eosin Panther as well. There's a thread on Sherdog comparing and contrasting the 2 and it would appear that the Kataaro is very good, while the Eosin is excellent, in terms of construction.
