Gene's and weight training
I did a search on the subject and didn't find what I was looking for, if this question as been brought up in another thread sorry must of skipped over it.
My father told me when he was around my age (16) he use to work out all the time with friends and he never really felt he got much stronger or gained any real mass. It wasn't till he turned 20 that he saw improvement.
Now after years of learning random stuff from friends and family (better then nothing) in the ways of fighting I've sorta formed my own little defunked way of fighting. I've only recently decided that I might want to learn other things about Martial arts and start training seriously.
Now getting to the question, My father says I'm bulit just like him when he was my age (5'8" 139 lbs) could he be wrong in the sense that I might not see much if any improvement if I start weight training because of my genetic's?
For the record yes I'm a newb to these forums and martial arts in general. I've watched a few ufc matchs and like boxing when ever I can catch it on tv.
