Why does working out give some people nosebleeds?
Heya! There is this really great kid in our gym (and by kid, I mean he's like 18, which is a kid to an old bat like me) who gets badass nosebleeds whenever he trains. He's really good, like to go hard in MMA and boxing, but when he's working hard his nose just starts bleeding for no reason. The kid is a gamer - he'll usually stuff his nose with kleenex and keep fighting, but it would be much better for him to fix the problem. He's already had it cauterized once, but it hasn't helped. Of course, we told him to see a doctor, but are there any common causes for this we can point him towards? Would high blood pressure do it - when he starts exercising, maybe his blood pressure shoots up?
