Okay if you read a lot two people appear in those threads constantly myself and Omega. So, you may need to read more or you are reading the wrong threads. Heck, there is a thread in here discussing Omega's feelings on forms.
and a little bit more
LoL, thanks a million. Everytime someone tells me to go use the search function, I always fail to find the threads they refer to.
Thank you omega supreme for providing history of your martial art training.
What I do not understand is how exactly is the 5 ancestor boxing/wu zhu quan is efficient in your combat/kickboxing bouts.
I personally trained nan/chang quan and TKD since I was 5, and took up TKD when I was 12. While they instilled mental toughness and discipline into me, they never helped me out in fights or cross martial arts sparring sessions. That was when I learnt muay thai and boxing and eventually BJJ.
While I do not doubt there is some inherent value in CMA and TKD, I do not understand how do they exactly contribute to real self-defense and MMA matches.
You have to train CMA the correct way to get a benefit.
Go look in this thread:
If you didn't spar or compete similar to the videos in that thread there was little fighting benefit.
