Man gets one year in jail
A MacArthur man was sentenced to a year in jail Thursday after he was found guilty on three charges in Raleigh County Magistrate Court.
Ronald Collins Jr., 27, was found guilty of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of battery on a police officer. Magistrate Mary Jennings found him not guilty of one count of making harassing phone calls.
He was sentenced to one year for each of the three guilty counts. His sentence will run concurrently.
Collins has already filed an appeal to circuit court.
