Iron Palm vs Boxer
Was sat talking to a friend and he posted me this video of an iron palm fellow versus what is apparently a boxer.
I'm calling bullshit, the fellows got no technique or anything that even resembles even the basic of boxing training. Was just going to leave it but honestly thought the random slap fu was hilarious enough to post for the comedy of it. Now I think we need to add some Benny Hill music to complete the hilarity :)
Though what do we think? Obvious set up? seriously good iron palmer taking on a legit boxer or slap-fu the art of bokarp?
Well, the fourth thing the "boxer" does is chamber his leg to kick, which doesn't really suggest a boxer at all. Maybe this is one of those "Chinese boxers" that's just a fanciful way of saying he does kung fu. At any rate, he crosses his feet, shuffles in to kick but then bails, stretches his lead hand nearly straight, turns his back when struck, and extends his arms out for flailing to swat down a flurry. These are all bad habits in boxing, so either he's not a boxer or he's a crappy one.
This vid is pretty old, but still pretty funny too.
He also runs like a scared squirrel from the slappy hands, which suggests to me either (a) that he has spent little to no time having people actually punch at him -- and therefore that he isn't really a boxer -- or (b) that he is a drinker of the slappy hands kool-aid himself.
This reminds me of the the "aikido vs. BJJ" or "Wing Chun vs. BJJ" videos in which the instructor has one of his own students attack in a way he thinks a BJJer would attack, then responds in a stylized way that wouldn't slow an actually BJJer down at all.
Iron Palm vs. Coconuts is still better than Iron Palm vs. anything else.
Let's say it is a real boxer, lol, I'm laughing at the lack of effect. Iron palm is supposed to rupture spleens, damage organs etc etc etc. He scratched the guy and never KO'd him.

I don't know. Maybe it's just a matter of not knowing any better.
Calling iron palm a style or a technique is the first mistake. :|
Seems legit to me, he obviously had boxing gloves on, so that is a no brainer.
Also, he did quite good, didn't see even one punch hit him.
And yet there is slap boxing.
Boxing is the real iron palm.
