I compile these every year, so I can win firearm-related arguments. I realized that this crew would probably enjoy them as well. It really illustrates how inconsequential firearm crime is int eh US, when compared to virtually any other cause of death here.
Most compelling: we could eliminate 16,586 firearms deaths a year by curing depression. 64% of firearms deaths in the US are suicides (in 2010)
Conversely, 68% of murders in the US are committed with a firearm.
