It was NHB circa 1996; gloves, rounds (there were rounds, right?) and a ref who could stand it up. LOL at anyone equating this with MMA; the thing ends with a 12-6 knee on a turtled opponent.Quote:
in any event. My point was simple. This thread has been all about people talking **** without the skill to back it up. I'm sure Alex looks great in Muay Thai. He's never fought MMA/NHB, and by commenting about the fight, he's alluding to some type of skill. Let's face it, my fight with Rudy wasn't anything MMA, change the venue of the fight to outside a bar and it would have been the same type of fight. Rudy punching as hard as he could, me taking him down to control him. As with any street fight, it was ugly, and it didn't last a minute.
I think I'm qualified to comment on looking unskilled in a GS LOL.
Edit: Seriously though, I understand how fearing the grappler's shoot fucks with your head in one of these things. I didn't even want to throw anything until he made his first shot. All I was thinking was, sprawl, sprawl, sprawl. I wanted to get a good position (I didn't) and land some **** before getting subbed. That to me was better than having him shoot under my first jab and ending up mounted, landing nothing.
