I went to a Relson Gracie seminar last night at Relson Gracie Waco and Relson promoted me to blue belt. I started training GJJ at the Austin Relson Gracie Academy under Phil Cardella in September 2006 as a 40th birthday present to myself. I trained in Austin for two years before work took me up here to Cleburne (three hours from Austin). Since then, my training has been pretty spotty (seminars with Relson, who comes to Texas several times a year, and training down in Austin whenever I was down there visiting family) until Chris Spicer opened up a RGJJ school in Waco last year. Relson was in town to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Waco school with one of his seminars, so I had the privilege of being promoted by Relson himself last night.
