I was looking forward to a chuntroll vs. chuntroll battle, but either the post that gave me hope was lost in the merge or it was deleted by BrotherDaniel.
There is this programme that shows on National Geographic called Kung Fu Quest, I have been watching the series for the last couple of weeks. (Its only one of about 4 channels in SEAsia in English)
Basically the programme visits Masters from all over Asia and shows how they train, their students, the theory behind the art and their philosophy and it always sounds very impressive, although one thing I notice is that every time they film any live sparring after about 10 seconds the fights, the forms, the theory, the secret punches, they all vanish into thin air and it turns into what looks like poor kickboxing fight.
Wow, such a pile of bullshit in this thread. Please for the love of God, shut up, wingchun guy. You obviously have no idea about Wing Chun and you make those of us, who actually practice or used to practice WT look bad. And I'm not talking about six months in a local pub. I am talking about years of training, cross-training, sparring with other styles etc.
Which manual are you referring to, btw? Is it the Wing Chun Kuen?
this thread needs more...
