Solved. You can purchase affiliation from Moreira and many of the biggest names (Gracie, Machado, etc.) for $2,000 annually or more, which allows one to advance in rank regardless of ability. If you are an instructor, your affiliation and your rank are one and the same. If you refuse to pay, you either drop in rank, or can not move past purple. A market exists selling ranks, affiliations and US visas, which are one and the same. Students never have to deal with this, as they're already paying, but amongst instructors, this is standard practice. The final two belts of Brazilian Jiujitsu are fraudulent for instructors, essentially being business deals. I was directed to Moreira personally, but declined to take part when he wouldn't state the fees in writing.
There is no conspiracy. Instructors have to buy affiliations to receive ranks. This is common knowledge. You get the rank regardless of skill. This is well documented. How many affiliation packages do you need to see to understand this? You can even purchase Lutra Livre if you're so inclined. Unless you have information on this subject, which I do and you don't, get the **** out of MABS. This is evidence based discussion, not your cult bullshit.
Would you look at that? $850 for a black belt in Lutre Livre. It's almost like everyone is selling these.
Yeah, that's Eugenio Tadio selling belts for $850 a pop. One would think this is Nigerian Jiujitsu.
