Insuring a one-off MA event - help
I'm trying to organise a one day Martial Arts event.
The aim is to get a load of local gyms/dojo's to get past their bickering and/or single style approach and join up for a massive Martial Arts love-in.
Everyone tries everyone else's art. My club pays the venue, and everyone trains for free. We all have a good day, and leave spiritually and intellectually richer for it.
The response has been surprisingly good, and we have everything from Karate to Kali, Aikido to Muay Thai, Iaido to Judo etc. It should rock.
Here's the thing. How the **** do we insure that?
Lets face it, some idiot is probably going to get hurt. (Most likely me.)
Everyone's club has their own insurance that covers their own members for training their own arts. Where does that leave everyone else?
So, I know this a pretty specific question, so I'll ask two...
1st: As a UK club, How do insure?
2nd: Any general advice on running a day like this? Apart from "Royal Rumble", what would you guys expect/like if you were attending/running something like this? Or, have you already done it?
Tell you what, 3rd: Anyone want to sponsor this thing with some insurance?
