- Started training in 1985 in Sport TKD, swapped to Shaolin Kempo in 1988-89 then to Kosho Kempo and Kyokushin Karate in 1993 or so. Then began training on and off in Northern Shaolin in a good friends school in the Madison Area. I have been in better shape, and worse. Mental health, rigorously being honest with myself about my training and learning about the history and philosophy of the arts has been something I enjoy.
