- I started off at a Tae Kwon Do McDojo in suburban Seattle when I was in Middle School, and I got up to Yellow belt. I don't remember any of it. But boy was I flexible.
Fast forward some 15 years later, I started taking 6:30 am Aikido classes at the Seattle School of Aikido. I stuck with it for a few months and unabashedly enjoyed it, but in the end I valued my sleep more than learning an abstract (but beautiful) Japanese budo.
In this time I also dabbled very briefly in Judo and Ju Jutsu around Seattle.
After some time off to rehab some nagging injuries, I am now training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Marcelo Alonso's BJJ academy.
