- In 2005 I took an Aikido class at my community college to get the PE requirement out of the way. I picked Aikido because it described itself as non-fighting and non-competitive. However, I found that while studying it I was becoming competitive with the other students and wanted to know how Aikido would work in a fighting environment. Lucky for me, Judo is also offered at my school and it's been a satisfying experience since I've made the switch.
