- Started training in Shukokai Karate in 1989. Obtained 4th Kyu (Purple) before leaving the club.
Started training in Ju-Jitsu/Kickboxing at Uni and stayed there for 3 years. During that time also started cross training in Freestyle and another JJ school. Also became exposed to the "BJJ revolution" that came with UFC 1 and started to train with like-minded ground people.
Hold 2nd Dan's in Ju-Jitsu & Freestyle and was a Self-Protection Instructor with British Combat Association. Also have a 2nd Dan Grade in "Budo" - whatever the hell that means!
Trained in JKD under Lee Banda and also a year in the U.S. with Jack Mcvicker.
Also trained for a stint with Mick Dempster in Muay Thai
From 2003-2006 trained in JKD/Grappling with Steve Crutchley. Gained a First Dan with Steve under the FORMA group.
I presently live and work in Alberta as an LEO & I am a Full Instructor under Paul Vunak and currently teach twice weekly, in addition to being an SCT instructor with my Service. I also keep my hand in with Muay Thai, Jits and believe it or not some Karate/Kickboxing with Canadian & World champions
