Thanks again for the info. I went and signed up today. My orientation class is on Monday at 6ish.
  2. I think the only striking class on Friday is around noon.

Tomorrow (later today actually since its 1:35am) after I get off work I was planning on visiting.
  4. None at all. It's a great gym for beginners in my opinion. When are you planning to try it out?

Champions Family Fitness has moved. I went to the address and they're no longer there. On to IJJ. Is there any reason IJJ wouldn't be good for someone completely new to this as me?

Thanks for the info it's exactly what I wanted to know. I'll definetly go check IJJ and the Champions Family Fitness.
  7. Well, Impact has my personal recommendation. The striking is built around MMA though, it's not a straight Muay Thai or boxing curriculum. In the Beaverton area there's also http://championsfamilyfitness.com/ which I was told is decent also although the schedule seems limited. Honestly if this is your first experience with training pretty much any decent gym will do for the first year or so, just try the close ones out and go with the one you like best.

I would PM you, but the only option it gives me is to post here. I'm close to the Beaverton location. Location isn't extremely important, however the Portland Thai Boxing I consider too far.
  9. Depends on which location you are close to. Beaverton MMA classes are typically striking centric, I don't think Newberg has any striking or MMA classes. How important is location to you? Do you have any sort of athletic background? PM some more info about your general area, I might be able to give you a list of schools to try out.

    Hi,

I saw a post where you said you train Impact Jiu Jitsu. I've never done any MAs and looking to get started. Striking looks much funner to start with compared to grappling. IJJ is very close for me, but I can't tell (even if I visited the place) how good the striking instruction is. In your opinion would I be able to get good instruction on striking at IJJ?
