- I took judo from age 7 to age 14 and worked up to a kiddie orange belt, with a bunch of competition wins. And then, like a nimrod, I quit because I was pissed that my sensei didn't think I was ready for a green belt. Looking back, he was right - and it had nothing to do with my skill level. My attitude just sucked.
Fast forward to age 26, when I got a bug up my ass to start taking judo again. Shortly after restarting judo I also started taking BJJ and wrestling.
I am very, very bad at all three and I sincerely regret all the years I wasted.
