Martial Arts Experience:

My first experience with martial arts was with Taekwondo when I was nine years old, for about 1 year. At 14 I began studying Aiki-Jutsu for about 2 years, followed by a six year teenage hiatus, after which I continued my studies in Aiki-Jutsu for another year. During this time, I discovered Bruce Lee’s philosophies and his expression of them through martial arts, which I will continue to study throughout my life. Shortly after, I was introduced to Jiu-Jitsu by a self-taught practitioner. A few months later to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and realized how much I did “not” know about Jiu-Jitsu. The next three years I was instructed once a week by a two stripe blue belt, (now a purple). I currently study Gracie Jiu-Jitsu under Chet Schemahorn (Brown Belt, certified instructor).
