I'm sorry to hear you have had trouble with him yourself. I can recommend two people I have trained with first hand; one is http://www.sportkickboxing.net/ and the other is http://www.bletchleydragons.co.uk/. Both guys have competed at a high level and will push your son but not put him off training.

However please check out other clubs; just make sure they do alot of sparring and don't be afraid to ask about peoples qualifications!

I'm so glad I came across your posting. I went to TMA classes before losing confidence in his grading system which has no impartial input. The reason I'm contacting you is that my son is going to the kids' classes. I would like to know what better classes you found near here, and do they do classes for kids? The kids move up at 10 to the adult classes. I'd like to move him on to a class that will genuinely teach him how to defend himself!Many thanks in advance for any advice!
