Ruger SR9c

Image: http://www.gunsumerreports.com/Ruger_SR9c/Ruger_SR9c_01_tn.JPG
Anyway, in another thread, I mentioned I MADE my wife go shoot. After a little crying and much foot stamping my wife still hates guns *snicker*. She then went on to tell me how much she dislikes the trigger pull and grip on a Sig. The Glock 17 with the trigger safety made it easier too shoot. She hit 6 out of 10 round center mass after the range officer taught her the proper stance. Then described her noob feelings about shooting downrange. All the while I'm giggling, like a little school girl, listening to someone that is trying HARD to convince themselves they dislike guns "BUT....."

So, I started looking at slimmer grips and stumbled across the SR9c. I love Ruger. Yes, I know the big idiot said some stupid crap ala "civilians should not have high cap weapons." Yeah, whatever. They are selling 17 round clips and I enjoy my .45 ACP. If you guys have some advice for a nice gun for small to medium size hands it would be greatly appreciated.

Pros and Cons of DIY Kydex Holsters

I am considering starting on making my own holsters from Kydex. I have purchased commercially made ones and they are great, and expensive.

I found supplies for making these at home and it does not appear terribly complicated. The cost of the supplies for 4 holsters add up to what I gave for one holster, professionally made.

Has anyone tried this and could you point out any landmines?

Thanks!

Yeah, we're running our new muzzle brake/comp on an SBR. I got all giddy because I was shooting a triple NFA gun (commando sized supressed select fire) and when I grabbed our test rifle I forgot to don my ear protection.

Commando sized BL + muzzle brake - hearing protection = ouch.
Wasn't as bad as firing a pistol with no ear protection though.

The brake actually does better than birdcage flashhiders on a regular (14.5" Bls and above) sized barrels.
