It's definitely an homage, similar to Grindhouse, but even many of the Shaw Bros movies looked better!

Idk, kinda looks like the ****, to me. I mean, in a college film project kind of way. Looked real enough (old SB style) that at first I thought they might be using old footage. And damn, is RZA that young? Looks young, man.

I've been into Shaw Brothers stuff since I was little and I'm on the fence about this.

At certain moments it looked almost EXACTLY like an old Shaw Brothers flick. Then I noticed the voice was in perfect synch with the mouth movements. My disappointment started there.

Most of the backdrops are a big backyard probably behind the RZA's house. And why is he in his own movie, beyond fulfilling a boyhood fantasy? And what the hell is with the bad CG blood spurt at the end?

However, I'd consider watching it to see some dude get a spear stab to the crotch.

Doesn't deserve the hate. If you're a shaw brother's fan, you might see some things missing. If you're a RZA fan, you see that it's half Shaw, half RZA fantasy. He's corny in a different sorta way. I'll definitely watch this.

Personally I'v been enjoying the afro samurai soundtracks quite a lot, more so than most any other wu related works I've listened to. As for the movie I'll be absolutely shocked if it manages not to at least be seriously entertaining even if it's not exactly "good".
