I'm sad that Atlanta is not the Throwdown powerhouse it used to be. :( I blame Asia moving too far away and the war in Afghanistan.

I'd like to make this an east coast deal if possible. Will be sending some PMs to a number of folks whom I'd like to see if they could make it and spark some interest. Depending on the numbers we get, I will start calling around to see what hotels will give us deals.

Hi folks. I just wanted to confirm we are doing this, and that we have a gong sau going on as well with it. We can shoot for Feb 26th; I am in the process of trying to get a cage/ring to rent for the gong sau, so that may shift the date if availability/space issues come up, since I won't be able to host it in my place, but will use my access to university and other resources to get us a good location.

That being said, by Oct 1 the date (and rental will be finalized).

Feb 26th is by far the best weekend for me, but I can nudge that a week either way if need be.

Also, I may get us a ring to use for an hour, then move the event to my place, for ease of performance. I know a ring has been requested for the gong sau, hence the difficulties.

Okay, I am going to see about renting a boxing ring at a local LA boxing for 1 hour, then we will move it to my place, which is 10-15 min from the boxing ring, for the rest of the fun.

oh yeah? Gimme some stats so I can be all pumped up on the idea to make it happen :P If there are actually potentially decent sparring partners for me it'd definitely make more inclined to make the effort to attend. I would also consider convincing one of my students to go if there will be some decent striking sparring partners for him.
