If so, what are the exercises you do in the morning, after getting out of bed?
(Aside from wanking, pleasing your partner, and/or feeding animals and children - which is a martial art on its own, btw.)
Since I am, in the best sense, not much of a morning person, I am looking for some high-intensity exercise to do right after waking up. I'd rather not do pushups et al. because I am already doing a lot of them during regular training.
So, any suggestions, apart from "get a girl that works YOU" or "more pushups"?

I've put up a chin up bar in my hall way and go for broke as soon as I get up and then head out to work. It's not a lot but I'm aiming to build on it with pressups, pull ups etc and get 30mins done before I leave the flat.

I usually do a basic yoga routine to "wake up" my body before I drink my coffee. Takes about 10-20 minutes depending on how many time I repeat it.

I used to do the salutation to the sun every morning, once for each side. I still do it when I can remember, but that was before I had kids who needed to be taken to school.
It's a really good stretch. Here's a link:

Yup, that's pretty much what I do every morning except I have a warm up vinyasa (series of poses) I include beforehand to warm up my spine and work on some problem areas.

I go for a simple 10km bike run when it's sunny. I detest running or jogging so I bike. I live right next to a "cyclotourism" cycling road so my road is mostly flat and goes through beautiful land. It's not really conditioning as much as it is just enjoying the landscape.

Every morning first thing I do isometrics exercise where you tense up all muscles of your body for 7 seconds. I do this 3 times as this is supposed to help lower your blood pressure. Then I ride bicycle 4 miles to coffee shop and back.

When I'm not running late for school I'll go for a mile(ish) jog, followed by some badass stretching. I do it every morning, well, try to. Some mornings I get up and just cannot find the motivation, but they happen more often than they used to. Build it up as a habit.
I dont do anything to high intensity, and always have breakfast after.

I used to do some HIIT body weight stuff first thing in the morning and I burnt out after about a semester. If your looking to start a morning routine you might want to start low intensity and work up from there. Now I just go for jog, hop on the exercise bike , or even more recently go to the 6am BJJ class.

Mornings are not for that, normally. Good for evenings and days off. ;)
Sex is always a good workout option, but the OP expressly banned it from suggestions.
Now that I dont have classes (exams) I can get to the early morning sessions at my Dojo. It's mostly cardio stuff, but it's more fun that running.
OP, see what early morning **** runs near you. You never know.

I've heard that you shouldn't jump right into high intensity work right after getting up, as this is the time of day that your blood pressure is highest. Of course who am I to say, I'm on beta blockers as it is?... I was told by my doc to wait at least 30 min to an hour before anything really intense, even before I was on the meds.

I started the Stronglifts5x5 program (thanks for the tip in your sig, teh el macho) but realised that when it begins to get really heavy, I will be struggling to recover for judo, which is Wednesday and Friday. I also roll lightly (not according to them) with a couple of crapplers and one BJJer on Monday.
I decided to do a Tuesday morning Stronglift5x5 workout A before work, then Judo on Wednesday night, which gives me about 35 hours recovery with the option of a long sleep in between. Thursday morning, Tai Chi before work, then Workout B in the evening. Friday is Judo and a long sleep in. Saturday morning/ day is a walk to the gym (about 1/2 an hour) to do Workout A before walking back. Change workout A and B around the next week as per program.
I have been relatively active the past year or so, but I am ramping it up. Do you think this kind of morning exercise routine is a decent fit for my schedule?
