This is not a fact. Stop calling it a fact. Nobody has any right being upset with the judge's decision, regardless of who won. Hell, I'm still not sure who I think won. There was no credible threat of finishing it, no non-cosmetic damage, nobody asserting positional or ring control dominance.
To be really nitpicky, nobody won.
Full credit for this response. Nobody won. And unlike many of you, I am able to admit I did not know enough about scoring until after this fight. It's kind of like when Sarah Palin was picked for VP. An epiphany. "Holy ****, they score fights that way?" "Holy ****, people ARE that fucking stupid?"
"Holy ****, people ARE that fucking stupid?"
What are you talking about!? She reads newspapers! So many she can't remember even one individual paper she reads!
Anyone watch the Countdown for this? For some reason it really boosted my perception of Shogun.
I'm watching it now. I think both camps are going to analyse the **** out of The last fight to win this next fight. Should be good.
Lol@ Paul Daley saying he is going to "decimate" Josh koscheck, what's he going to do with the remaining 90%?
Handy tip: mike Tyson was a fearsome fighter but his vocabulary might not be the best thing to borrow for your trash talk, especially when you openly admit to not knowing the words actual meaning. Paul was right though, when Tyson said it it sounded badass.
To be fair until you pointed that out I never really considered that word to mean anything aside from destroy, as most people use it. Tricky Romans, tricky, tricky, Romans.
Mike Tyson is the best mofo ever. I hope he finds the fountain of youth, learns takedown defense, and destroys the heavyweight division.
I've just put money on koscheck/Daley .. this will be interesting
I aint stupid enough to put it on rua/Machida its alot less predictable
I think we need to take the first fight in the context of other UFC fights as of late. There seemed to be a new "game plan" for champions to coast through a win.
I can not tell you how many lousy Judo decisions I have seen over the years. I have seen matches "go to the flags" and have no idea how the judges could see it that way. However, I never let my players bitch about it. The flags are a lottery, the judges in the UFC seem to be the same.
Martial Sport, especially manly martial sports, should leave NO DOUBT who won. Someone should have been slammed so hard their parents died, or punched so hard their grandparents died. They should have been choked out or had a joint twisted until their screams were heard in space.
But IF they didn't do that, then STFU, YOU put it in someone else's hands.
BTW and FYI, I have known the correct usage and history of the word "decimate" for over 30 years, and have cringed every time I have seen it misused...
...and yet I have not read a daily newspaper for information in over 10 years.
had a joint twisted until their screams were heard in space.
That would be "hear" not "here," but I don't read daily newspapers so what do I know.....
Aw as if I didn't see that. Not my bad though!
I think Machida wins but hoping for a Shogun victory.
Here is a breakdown.
Shogun by "...and this time, it's personal.".
mike Tyson was a fearsome fighter but his vocabulary might not be the best thing to borrow for your trash talk
"I'm coming for you man. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, I'm just ferocious! I want your heart, I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah!"
"ill **** you til you love me ******!"
has to be one of his all time greatest lines, even if it was a reporter and not another fighter. lolarious
Why oh my goodness, did I have to google this?!

I hope the pee-drinker loses tonight.
Because Shogun is cooler.
And because, if today we drink pee, will, in ten years, we discuss about the benefits of drinking jizz?
Some of you might find this interesting in the run up to tonight's fights. It an interview with a French Muay Thai coach who has trained with both Machida and Rua and basically its his analysis of what's going to happen in the striking. My understanding of striking is limited, I know that you are supposed to hit the other guy harder and more often than he hits you but I thought it was pretty readable. Apparently front kicking will feature heavily.
I think Shogun will win by chopping off Machida's lead leg over 25 minutes but then I thought Randy Couture's head movement was good when he fought Timmy.
Pro-Wrestling, it works? I think the rules need to be clarified on "head-spiking."
