This is not a fact. Stop calling it a fact. Nobody has any right being upset with the judge's decision, regardless of who won. Hell, I'm still not sure who I think won. There was no credible threat of finishing it, no non-cosmetic damage, nobody asserting positional or ring control dominance.

I think we need to take the first fight in the context of other UFC fights as of late. There seemed to be a new "game plan" for champions to coast through a win.

I can not tell you how many lousy Judo decisions I have seen over the years. I have seen matches "go to the flags" and have no idea how the judges could see it that way. However, I never let my players bitch about it. The flags are a lottery, the judges in the UFC seem to be the same.

Martial Sport, especially manly martial sports, should leave NO DOUBT who won. Someone should have been slammed so hard their parents died, or punched so hard their grandparents died. They should have been choked out or had a joint twisted until their screams were heard in space.

But IF they didn't do that, then STFU, YOU put it in someone else's hands.

BTW and FYI, I have known the correct usage and history of the word "decimate" for over 30 years, and have cringed every time I have seen it misused...

...and yet I have not read a daily newspaper for information in over 10 years.

Some of you might find this interesting in the run up to tonight's fights. It an interview with a French Muay Thai coach who has trained with both Machida and Rua and basically its his analysis of what's going to happen in the striking. My understanding of striking is limited, I know that you are supposed to hit the other guy harder and more often than he hits you but I thought it was pretty readable. Apparently front kicking will feature heavily.

I think Shogun will win by chopping off Machida's lead leg over 25 minutes but then I thought Randy Couture's head movement was good when he fought Timmy.
