Ace101.

Let me give you my answer.

Ninjustu (it's correct name is Bujinkan okay ?) is a very fucked up system. It has problems. Mainly because of the way its taught in Japan. You have people in the Bujinkan who are great, but most are not so good.

The problem with the Bujnkan is most clubs do no sparring. No free practice. I'm serious. They attack each other with obvious lunge punches and just stand there letting their partner put the technique on. That and most Bujinkan clubs do not focus on hard, athletic training.

If you have your heart set on it, look around. But before you choose to train anywear make sure that they do sparring and if they don't do a U turn and walk straight out the door.

Personally your better off taking another art. Your full contact competition styles tun out your better quality fighters. Your kickboxing, boxing, wrestling, Judo,BJJ, mauy thai, full contact karate, you know what I mean right ? Since you do Muay Thai I would stick with that. By far its one of the best striking arts around.

Personally, I disagree. My sensei is not in the bujinkan, but teaches ninjutsu and we do spar. I am also doorman and have used the techniques in a number of skirmishes in my work, mainly in restraining people and defending myself. The training is such that you automatically choose a method of dealing with an opponent without thinking about it. It is the most streetwise martial art that I have come across, and I would definitely recommend it.

The Ninja were not fake and they were real but going into hand-to-hand combat would be thier last option. They would also use weapons and explosives and were probly in good shape. Think of them as the ancient Navy Seals or Marine Recon

(unless there are hidden Ninjutsu dojos, wich would be awsome)

Though Ninja training has been lost in history and what they did, but if you want to be a Ninja I recommend trying to get into Navy Seal or something....

Other then that, your Muay Thai would probably own any ninja

and "bujinkan" teaches alot of crappy stuff

who is your sensei? what ryu are you practicing? does it have a solid connection to japan?

if you cannot answer this, or if your answer is no to the 3rd question then you are probably larping:

class: NINJA
race: TROLL:ninjafigh

Thank you for your "inspired" response. Another so called martial artist with an attitude it seems. I refuse to mention my sensei's name, since I don't have his permission to do so, although I will say that he has connections with Dave Heald who taught him a lot of his weapons knowledge (if that means anything to anyone). He has also studied under Hatsumi whilst he was part of the bujinkan. We study all of the schools, not just one (there are 9 after all).

I came here to look for extra information on the art I enjoy, as well as share some of my experiences, but as I've been met with abuse after my FIRST POST, I don't think I will post here again. It appears though that I have found yet another website that has a clear bias against ninjutsu. Open minded - I don't think so.

We are just interested in seeing good ninjutsu. You know where good ninjutsu could be found, and yet you refuse to provide us any information. Why is that?

Also, you need permission to tell us the name of the guy that trains you? WTF?

good ninjutsu.

I'm sorry, what?

Oh my, another ninja thread where a ninja tries to defend the art with no evidance to back up his claims. No way, I would not have suspected.

Well, Ninjabrian, the reason why people aren't going to give you the time of day is because your using the same exact defense that every other ninja has used before you. Now you are using the back out strategy that all who train poorly or don't train at all are using.

If you want to be taken seriously and have serious discussion then you are going to have to provide infromation that will help you defend your case. For all we know you may train under "Choson Ninja." If so, prepare to be ridiculed.

You're another one of these so-called tough guys who talk a big game but are easily butthurt when someone simply poses you questions.:llorar:

What's wrong? Were you expecting this site to take your claims at face value? You want you and your art to be respected? Well, take a cue from the real Martial Artists in the past who actually *earned* their respect. :fist:

If you believe you are learning ninjutsu then you have been hoodwinked. Bujinkan/Genbukan/Jinenkan etc are not ninjutsu organisations, there are no commercial schools in Japan teaching authentic 'ninjutsu'. What is now commercially exported as 'ninjutsu' is basically a style created by Takamatsu who invented up a whole load of bogus history (which has been exposed many times). I used to live and train in Japan in the Booj, I learned some very effective techniques for restraint and defense against grabs and chokes but nothing else stands up to the randomness of real live fighting.
This site pretty much opened my eyes to the fact that all of these schools just teach 'Takamatsu den', which is fine if they would simply say so. The problem is that Hatsumi started marketing his school using historic fiction plus whatever stories he heard from Takamatsu. Saying that you work on a door and spar in your school reminds me of some ex Booj instructors who teach their own style marketed under the Booj banner (eg the BBD). If what you've learned works in the real world then great, you should realise though that it is not ninjutsu.

Open minded - I don't think so.

The thing that REALLY gets to me about this thread...

Who the HELL told you we were completely open minded?

Such vicious rumors are unfounded. I DEMAND an apology for insinuating such drivel.

We are only open-minded with people who provide details to back up their claims. After all, it is you who are coming on here making claims. We just sit back and point and laugh until you provide proof.

We'd love to see videos of the sparring. Unless it looks like this YouTube- Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu: The Art of Holding Your Arm Out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBPMbwgopZg) if it does then LOL

At 0:40: "How to stab yourself on behalf of your attacker and end up in a neutral position on the ground with the knife still in your attacker's hand"

a.k.a. "How do suicide"

EDIT: that was so insane, I made an animated GIF just so it can repeat over and over and over.

Just stare at it. Watch the stabbing go down.

I read the Bullshidoka Arguments thread the other day and I had an idea. To save time and energy, is it possible to simply cite or quote the appropriate Argument/Counter every time someone uses one? It won't be as fun, obviously, but I imagine it would be a huge time saver.
