This is what I have gotten out of this whole ordeal.

I hate admit to it but I'm a member at MartialTalk myself, haven't visited the site in a while though. I don't remember being that bad when I first registered there.

LOL! I didn't see this coming, but I couldn't agree more with all of the sentiments expressed.

It's just that much more precious when people who advertise publicly get all shitty and pissy when someone actually looks into their histories and backgrounds, because those types usually seem to end up as frauds or liars. When folks set out their shingle to do business in public, by definition they open themselves to people legitimately questioning their business/credentials/services.

In this day and age, it simply doesn't make sense to buy products or services without researching the hell out of them first. "What's that you say, Mr. Salesman? This car has the best safety record in it's class? OK, I'll be back after I do some serious digging on it, and by the way also on your business to see if you've had complaints for screwing over customers. Thanks!" In such ways can we reward truth, honesty, and solid products with our hard earned dollars, and prevent ourselves from the mistake of spending cash on cheap and shitty goods or services from disreputable or dishonest people.

No ****, "Buyer Beware" is even more true in the MA world than anywhere.. I found out the hard way that in ANY field, once you hand your money over to a con-artist, it's GONE; and NOBODY's going to get you back your money, or the time and aggravation that you spent with some huckster!

Martial Talk has finally been found out for the cunts that they are. Bob Hubbard is a ****** who's been outed as a paper tiger who will eventually lose his shitty fucked up website because of their stupid 'we don't give a ****' policy on sketchy people who are friends of their site. Tim Hartman, this ************'s boss, his top dog (from behind) is a fucking fraud who has pissed off virtually every major instructor in Filipino martial arts for the last 10 years. No one trusts him because he's basically a racist and hides behind various identities on his site to snipe at people. This guy financed the website as a place for his fucking cronies to talk **** about other FMA's. Bob Hubbard is his main ****.

The website is a natural buffer and allows cocksuckers like Dan Anderson (another asshole, fraud and paper tiger) and others to be holier than thou. Go to Martial Talk and check out this guy's credentials for example -- he posts it on Martial Talk every time he wants to make a point about something (sound familiar?). He calls himself Grandmaster of Modern Arnis 80 which is of course, really Modern Arnis but with a number at the end. Everyone in FMA hates these fucking guys and Martial Talk is their Internet bunker.

Hey...that could be a research to expose frauds of the FMA -- lots of 'em.

Do you have any proof or sources to back up your claims about Bob's brand of FMA? I'm not saying that I doubt you, but it would help your argument if you had sources.

I mean, to me it seems like a policy to avoid arguments turning ad hominem and to reduce the incidence of flame wars and stuff. If they don't want to have as courageous an amount of free speech as bullshido then that's up to them, right? People who host sites do have the right to put policies forth to steer conversations in the direction of the type they would like to see.

Maybe they don't have enough moderators to try and settle arguments between people, or perhaps previously it happened so much that nothing good got said until there was an agreement to stop person-based arguments and get back to discussing generic theories and stuff?

The only thing I think is, if they are going to ban the criticism of people then they should similarly ban the promoting of people. Like, if you can't criticize some guy selling his books on NINJA or whatever, then you also should not be permitted to mention them by name, an they should stick specifically to theory and well known arts.

So, who paid you to resurrect the thread? you couldn't have read the entire thread because, every point you raised has already been answered one way or the other.

I was a "noob" on MartialTalk. The first and only thread I posted on, was the one where a poor Father of a 9/11 victim wanted to have the public memorial to his son read, " killed by Muslim Terrorists". I wrote my opinion, extremely respectful, of all points of view, yet ever proud of America, our patriots in the Military and their families and that seemed to have pissed off two or three of their "MartialTalk Sr. Grand Masters/Mentors". They replied to my posts by basically telling me to back off and pipe down. I just tried to log on this morning and lo and behold, I've been banned! ...The message says I've been banned for not fully completing my registration?????? Huh???????......Anyways, I think that my very pro-America and anti moral equivalence stance (all religions have terrorized people at some point, so let's not call it "Muslim" terrorism, you know, focusing on Islam and all, there is no "good and evil", blah, blah, blah), really ruffled, what seems to be a majority British staff's feathers.

Psycho Dad....I don't have your patience....cuz I'm not bothering to go back and re-register on MartialTalk......Let them all "play with each other".....because that seems to be the intent of that site.....Go Bullshido!

Fortunately there are a number of reputable sites like bullshido.com to out phonies. Most people with any skill level, experience or education can spot a phony anyway. Let's all just enjoy a good laugh at MartialTalk. Personally, I would hate to be so messed up that people considered me to be the laughing-stock of the marial arts world. But if that's what MartialTalk wants, then.... oh well. Keep up the good work, bullshido.
