Not sure if this is the appropriate place for equipment questions but since there is knife questions can anyone recommend training headgear that is knife resistant?
We do a lot of knife defences but have to focus on torso aimed attacks as we can't find solid face protectors. All the guys and instructors want to do more defences targeted at the head and neck as they would be major targets, but we need good gear for general safety and insurance reasons.
Plus so we don't lose eyes.
So can anyone recommend any solid headshields? Preferably thrust resistant but slash resistant would be workable too.

Google fencing headgear, or martial arts headgear. You have a choice between fencing masks, partial-coverage plastic, or full-coverage plastic. I included examples of each. If used partial-coverage plastic in Isshinryu for weapons sparring with foam escrima sticks, but that's basic stuff. It really depends on the weapon.

I recommend a fencing mask. Won't fog up on you and should be plenty durable enough.

Go with a Sabre/Three Weapon strength fencing mask.

This. Forgot to add that.
What type of training knife are you using? I been using the Polycarbonate blades lately, but used Japanese White Oak for a long time. The only real danger to knife training/defense to the head is a strike across or through the eyes. Getting hit in the nose would be similar to a fist and the jaw strike should be handled by a mouth piece that you should already wearing.
A fencing helmet does give complete protection, but I found eye protection (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_1_4?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=safety+glasses&x=0&y=0&sprefix=safe) is more than enough for knife work.
Here's one too ;).

We use generic wooden knives. It's mostly so we can stab at the face.
