Dude, you say no empirical evidence exists. Well, prove it.
Good Lord, statements like these make me facepalm so hard that my grandkids are probably gonna feel it.
This kinda reminds me of a conversation I had in which a woo-woo co-worker proclaimed "Well, science can't explain faith!" That's just... I mean, it's not even... you can't... guh!
Guh!!

Ah, How Do Armbar brings the awesome.
These people are thick.
You'll all change your tune when a horde of slow, elbow-less aliens land on Earth and are PWNed by that guy. Or if you have to fight someone with a neuromuscular disease that prevents them from retracting their arm after a punch. Either way, that is teh d33dly.

You should have linked them to Choson Ninja's Youtube channel so we can have more fun at their expense.
One can become very good at demonstrating.

You're all going to hate me (and I don't care), but the only difference between bullshit and practical techniques is being able to use them against a resisting opponent. Some of those "moves" looked like throws I've seen used successfully in Sanda (there are quite a lot). It's just the way that he's demonstrating them to this idiot that is making it all seem like bullshit (though some of it of course is).
While I was in China I met over a dozen teachers/coaches for Wushu, Sanda, and Taekwondo in different cities mostly in the South and almost all of them were great fighters and had cross-trained in all of those and more but many gave up trying to teach Sanda because Wushu and Taekwondo was where the money was at. I can't speak for this man but in my experience a lot of the Chinese teachers could go off on a tangent showing you all kinds of bullshit moves but could also kick your arse because of superior condition and fighting experience from their days at the state-run fight school academies where they started training when they were six.
What that means is that they are egotistical shitty arsehole swindling teachers but can still kick your arse, though not necessarily (although still possibly) with the moves they just showed you. Sanda mixes techniques from many of the traditional styles and a lot of them do have merit when they are slightly modified and trained alive. This teacher here is showing this idiot what he wants to see. If he showed him a Sanda match and he had hair and a normal Sanda uniform he wouldn't get nearly as much money.. It's economics.
That said there are some great realistic teachers out there that love what they do and I was fortunate to eventually study from one after a lot of frustration and embarrasments. You can usually spot the ones that can't even fight at all by whether they are ripped or not and the ones that can fight but are going to bullshit you by their attitude (big ego). There's my two cents.. ;)

All of this ignorance is easily cured .
All they have to do is shut the **** up and FIGHT .
Seriously if these people would simply test their theories , the stupid would just slowly evaporate away leaving them with broken ego's, some bruises, and tons more wisdom and experience to back up their new opinions .

In this economy, those 2 cents are less than worthless. Apparently aliveness sparks inflation. Who knew?

I should have mentioned that they were two eurocents and worth a lot more than your bullshit. How is it that some people get away with having no opinion on these forums other than disagreeing with everything else and slandering others???
EDIT: That was rather harsh.. but not only aimed at you. Train on.

Honestly, its because we don't train in Wushu, TKD, or Sanda.

It's not slander to call someone's opinion bullshit when it's been beaten and disproven to death on about 400 other threads. I mean fucking really, everybody knows an armbar CAN work, but if I see someone training it slowly and shittily against a non-resisting opponent who makes retarded and unrealistic responses (or none at all) to the maneuver, what the **** is the point dude?!?!

Did I say anything to the contrary? Please re-read my original post.
The argument for "techniques to deadly to practice" has a glaring flaw. The few times I've been threatened "on the street" in my adult life have always had large gray areas for me. If things get physical, the police will get involved, and for me, an assault charge would end my career. Practically, it seems like successful self-defense is giving, and receiving, as little damage as possible in order to escape the situation. Even if this fantasy were true, I can't imagine standing before a judge and saying "Well, your Honor, he tried to punched me, so I shattered both of his kneecaps and broke his neck."
