I desperately want to get back into jiu-jitsu despite having recently had laser eye surgery. It's only been a month, my eyes feel tender, and I know it's ill-advised, but I figure if I use some eye protection, it'll allow me to reduce the risk of dislodging my corneal flaps considerably. Anyone have any eye protection that they recommend for this kind of thing?

I'd recommend that you stay away from jujitsu until you're cleared by your doctor. They're your eyes - you only get 2.

DO NOT DO IT!!! This isnt just about getting hit in the face it is about raising your eye pressure. Chokes, being in guard, straining while on top, just talk to your doc to find out how long you have. REPEAT TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!!!

What do you need both of em for anyway?

I asked my doc and she said wrestling was okay, just to be careful. However, the more I think about it... grappling seems to be a different activity in respect to eye pressure. You get a lot of rubbing when you're trying to escape neck chokes or pass guard. I didn't fully explain this to her. I will ask tomorrow, but I was hoping someone who had gotten LASIK could relate their own experience in regards to how long before they went back to training.
