For the benefit of Google, isn't it spelled "Raleigh"?

Brinn is still posting on this site and actually defending another martial artist as not being bullshido.

How the hell did that get by all of us? Fixed, with thanks.

5/04/2011 12:37pm,
I had an interesting conversation with Brinn the other day on the phone. He contacted me via FB out of the blue and basically continued his contention on being legit.

While I understand that he MAY have something to offer people as a trainer he still holds to his convictions about only drilling and that sparring is bad. I had to disagree with him. Sadly due to his location I am not able to go there and see him teach or randori with him.

I did tell him to contact Gil the owner of USA-MMA and get him to put one of his guys on a card against one of our guys. I never got an solid affirmation from Brinn so I do not know if he is going to follow up.

His contention to being a good coach is that one of his former guys is a purple belt now and that ONE of his guys won A MMA fight. I really do not know how to take this guy. I have reread some of the original posts and can not say that he is totally without merit but does lack some credibility due to equating doing some seminars and training with people with little to no experience as really training.

Any who, I said I would post on the site and ask the mods to at least temporarily lift the ban to allow him to state his case and maybe clarify some things.

I will call him later today and ask him some more questions please post some if you would like some answers. Also is this the Shamwow/Jewish MA creator?

The very same :)
I do believe, however, the original logo said "kites of Shamar."

Apparently there is footage of Shamar fighter Brian Amy. Pretty decent quality too.

I have seen Brian Amy fight and win his debut; I can't remember/tell if the above video is the same fight or a different one. Brinn was there, but not in the corner.

Watching more of the video, I think it is a different fight; more technical than the first performance.

The announcer stated not only that he was representing Team Sharmar, but he had a record of 1-0, so it likely wasnt' his debut.

I'm not looking forward to him coming back for round 17. All he ever does is repreat the same tripe until someone summons up the gumption to, once again, go search through his megathread and pull up exactly where he did in fact claim X/Y/Z and where/how it was already disproven.

If he wants to believe sparring is bad, that's his business, he's no different than most Bujinkan or Aikido; it's not the reason people investigated him.

I believe he is 4-0 now, this vid being from his second fight. He won some kind of title in Virginia in a 4-man.

Well, that's good for his fighter and, overall that's all that is important.
Brian Amy found a way to make it work for him.

That video also says he was representing gracie barra as well. At 13:22 the guy in his corner is wearing a gracie barra shirt. So to say team Shamar is responsible for his performance might be an overstatement.
