apparently you don't need eye contact to make it gay :/
That's what they tell themselves anyway.

[quote=Lebell;2161465]the problem of the irish ' fighting spirit' : when they sober they lack the heart, when they're drunk they lack the skill.
Not that the Irish need anyone to speak on their behalf but, to be honest, I haven't found this to be the case. Then again, I've never met a sober one. (Joking! OK?)

YouTube - Good Dojo or Bad Dojo? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diFbEjCCobE&feature=fvw)
They have a different view on what is a good dojo than we do..
Seriously though, no one there has listed any experience in grappling or strength and conditioning - the main guy has supposedly studied Judo, but it's not listed in his extensive list of black belts.
Hell, I don't even see anyone with a Muay Thai record - or a boxing record.
MMA DUBLIN - like ATT, but with different accents.
Notice the "warrior" in orange there. I get the impression that he is leaning on his mother. It might be something wrong with my eyes but I also see a Mohawk shape on his hair due.

He's why I posted the picture.
I'm all for kids in MA but not when they're 'certified' or 'black belts' or 'junior black belts' etc.

What is the MMA scene like in Ireland anyway? I'm probably going home soon, and while I'm more interested in straight Judo, BJJ and MT, it kind of worries me that these guys are able to get punters in for such expensive classes. I know there's one born every minute, but this kind of suggests the supply side is not meeting demand, and I'll have a tough time finding a class.

This is not really the kids fault. He looks like he has just entered puberty all boys are losers during puberty. It is just that he got tempted into buying an "mma warrior" diploma. Which is not worth the paper it is written on but still costs 999 QUIDS.
-_- on second thought.. the stupid tadler deserves it. FLAME ON

Not really, Irish gyms have had fighters in the UFC, Cage Rage, even Bellator there are tons of qualified coaches in Ireland.

Eye contact during ear nibbling would be near impossible, no? At least without causing damaging eye strain.
Not if you eye gouged them and pulled one out. Makes it easier.

I just suffered through that whole documentary. He or his parents paid for this, right?
I can't believe he actually included video of himself benching one plate. I think I'd have kept that accomplishment to myself.

There are a number of good clubs in the country but it will really depend where you are going. You should expect that many towns will not even have a BJJ club. This is probably true for Judo and MT also.
The best Judo club in the country is Long Tower in Derry.
The best BJJ club is the SBG in Dublin. It is the only club in the country with a BB coach.
Dont really know about MT clubs.
As an example of what you may face this is what it is like where i live.
I travel to Derry to do judo as there are no clubs in the town where i live (none in the whole county that i know of). Long trip but worth it IMO.
Like in many places in Ireland we had to start our own BJJ club (just a group of white and blue belts who train together) as there is nothing here either. There are a few good clubs around now but most seem to be in the major cities (Belfast and Dublin mostly).
There is no MT around here either but there is a good ISKA kickboxing gym about half an hour away (on the NI Border).
Everyone is very positive about the training in Ireland and it has improved to a huge degree in the last 5 years but the truth is that it is still hard to get good training unless you are lucky enough to live in the right place.
