It's a blunt question but I'm curious.

The guy may be a tool, I've never had the privileged of hearing him speak, but those of you talking about belt tying are dumb.

I still am willing to bet the guy bought his purple belt via private lessons. He COULD be legit, but someone who earns a purple belt through blood, sweat, and tears is not likely to run his mouth about being a black belt when he is not. It's just a respect for the art thing. His lack of repsect for the rank (which would generally take a minimum of three hard years to get, if training six days a week at a legit school) is very telling.

Where I train, if you were to go to three classes a week, it would take roughly three and a half years to get a purple belt FROM THE TIME YOU MADE BLUE, which is about a year. I have seen one guy do it in three years, but he trained twice a day, six days a week and took privates on top of that. I never seen anyone else get purple that fast and still be good enough to back up the rank. Something doesn't sound right about Spencer. Time will tell.

I was actually better off not knowing who this person was. Now I'm depressed because this douche is a millionaire for being a stupid asshole. Sure I'm smarter than him and have real talents, and my imdb board isn't entirely populated by people who want me to die under the wheels of a bus, but damn, life is not fair. He just started dating some chick on the show for the sole purpose of getting on the show. that's worth 200 grand a week?

I guess one positive thing is that at the rate he's spending their money, once the hills is off the air they'll both soon be broke, and since they'll be yesterday's news, clubs will stop paying them for appearances, and they will fade into obscurity and poverty. Apparently the entertainment news folks are calling them "Speidi" and has the word that they are writing a book on how to be famous (according to something I saw on the MSN home page yesterday). I guess that means their 15 minutes is almost up.
