Hello all, this is my first post outside the noob forum. So here we go.
What are the best smaller MMA promotions? I know that King of the Cage is sort of a second tier promotion, and I've read that Ring of Combat in NJ is a good small promotion. Maybe it's a third or fourth tier promotion. Is there a promotion that only operates in your state or city that is well-run?
New Breed Fighters and amatuer show in AC NJ is run of the best run promotions I have ever had guys fight in.
First class show that really makes the kids feel like pros
The best regional shows I've been to have been put on by the RFL (Revolution Fight League) based out of Louisville, KY. They haven't had a show in almost a year, but as I understand it they're having one in june. Great cage, good production and hype.

Wolf...
Vyper Fight League is cranking up in Louisville, too. They had their first event April 24, but I only caught the cable telecast. Plan on attending the May 29 event to see firsthand how they do. Davis from Ohio Valley Wrestling partnered up with Bradshaw Layfield after he retired from WWE to start it.

Throwdown ETC in Salt Lake City Ut is a top line local show. They put on about 3-5 fights a year with some really impressive fighters. A few of the guys that fight on the show regularly, and hold the titles, are probably going to end up fighting in the UFC eventually. They also hold the fights in the same arena the Jazz play in. All in all a pretty damn classy show.
XCC, around here, are pretty well run. Have heard good things about MXC, as well.
Gladiator Challenge could be worse. Sometimes they get fighters in there who have no business fighting, but by the same token, guys who just want to fight get a chance to.

Strikeforce WAS the best run regional promotion, that just got themselves unregionalized.

Lou Negelia's Ring of Combat in A.C is relly good. They've got guys from all over the Northeast fighting with a few good prospects and a handfull of guys with UFC experience. Two guys from my gym have been fighting there.

Thanks to everyone. I will check all of these out. Two followup questions:
Does anyone know a good promotion in Ohio? I can get to Cleveland in 2-3 hours.
Has anyone seen a show put on by Raging Wolf in western New York State? Was it any good?

Sorry, to come to the party late, but it sounds like you are in the the North East. Just down the road here in DC (really northern Virginia) UWC and Operation Octagon aren't bad

Try the NAAFS. They're a good sized regional promotion that has a lot of events in the Cleveland area. They also have their events broadcast on FSN sometimes.
Be warned though, if you are fighting a major ticket seller for them and it goes to a decision don't be surprised when you lose.
