I'm building a makiwara in my backyard, and I'm also starting to get into wood burning, so a friend suggested I try to burn some kanji into the base of it. I only want to do it if it's something funny or clever though. I was thinking "Bird feeder under construction" or "break knuckles here". If anyone can show me the characters or has any good ideas I'd appreciate it.

if it's really going to be clever in kanji, it will probably not seem so clever in english and vice versa. only a native speaker or really advanced student will be able to come up with anything good.
