Well, I did not so much need the holiday as my gf, but since I could not train(huge case of cauliflower ear) and she wanted to go places with me, I went.
But yes, my life is kind of freaking amazing.

What is wrong with a daido juku (or similar) type of helmet? It is safer AND closer to mma then the boxing headgear and the boxnig gloves. Manly pillow fighting with still risk on being smacked in the eye or nose compared to smaller more agile hands and untouched face.

Since I am likely to be one of your sparring partners, I have nothing against such a helmet. If you feel more comfortable like this, I'd have nothing against it.

BTW, from what I understand, the toughest thing we will do will be hard contact fighting, so I'd be glad if noone came in there with the intention or the drive to break some noses.
