Hmmm.. something tells me, its really the novelty value that is getting these guys the victories. Okay, hard work, training, all are important but something itches.. telling me that it is really because their opponents have NEVER seen that type of stuff before.

If that KO was delivered from a rear spin kick from standing up, I would think the other professional fighter would not hesistate to close that gap. Or am I missing something? Maybe the capoeira kick, with his upper body moving to the ground delivers way more power, esp since he seemed a lot less willing to do a real block after his first kick.

Or I'm completely wrong, just throwing this out there..

There's nothing to grab a hold onto or to quickly strike against when he's crouched down in a kick like that, even if you do avoid the kick to rush in. In that kind of position the Capoiera could just mule kick you, wrestler style. Maybe if you counter with a drop kick to disrupt his motion.

My personal opinion is that the MMA guy really needed to be up close. He was in serious trouble when he faded and let the Capoiera guy dictate the fight range, and even moreso when the Capoiera guy started spinning with all that momentum.

Maybe, he should have kicked after the flying spinning one before. The capoeira guy landed completely uncovered. That could have made him more careful about his kicks.

But he didnt, and got kicked instead.

Powerful one hurts even from watching.

Beautiful victory. 100% winning attitude.

The mma fighter lets his guard down when the capoeira guy crouchs, thus when the kick connects the mma fighter takes it full force on the chin.

Definitely the surprise aspect along with the speed of the kick that defines this win. If the MMA guy had been moving at the same pace as the capoeira dude and had more experience of capoeira style kicks he might have been better prepared.

Yes crouching the body does deliver more power to a kick but it also leaves you vunerable with your back exposed, although admittedly for a short period of time. If your opponent is fast enough they can be on top of you from the rear leading most likely to a choke .

I'm going to start using this as evidence that Capoeira is a more effective fighting art than Aikido, Ninjutsu, and Silat.
from this video it is clear that capoeira is better than bruce lee and muai thai and BeeJayJay
