Pluresy, the plural fluid around your lungs might be the culprit here.

and what the others said about relaxing your upper body.

Rucass - that's a great find. The other videos on his channel are just as good.

Thanks for posting.

Well, thank you all.

I've not checked this thread in a while.

But since posting, I've been booked in for an MRI and specialist, which is good. Hopefully I can get a report on the state of my neck.

But, I've also been to Active Feet (http://www.activefeet.com.au/), who got me running, checked my feet and style, and recommended a good pair of runners. I tried them around the block, on concrete: they felt fantastic.

If the MRI and specialist results are good, I'll drop in, pick up my new New Balance, and hit the track/grass/pavement.

And I've also tried to make my running style more...er..'runny' (i.e. not like walking).

OK. The MRI results are in.

The radiologist reports 'at c3/4...mild broad based disc protrusion causing mild indentation to the anterior aspect of the cord.'

In plain English: the disc between my third and fourth vertebrae is bulging, and bumping my spinal cord. (And they call Judo 'the gentle way'.)

The other cervical discs are mildly protruded, but the cord seems fine. There's some minor wear to the c5/6 facets, but nothing serious.

The specialist thinks all this is relatively minor, and shouldn't stop me running. She was less sanguine about Judo.

So: I now have my new New Balance runners.

It's on.

Here is one of the MRI images.

And yes, that is the brain stem that wrote Distraction (http://catalogue.mup.com.au/978-0-522-85374-2.html). (The cerebral cortex was not involved.)

I am jealous of your access to MRI and proper footwear.

What, you can't get an MRI?

And...you...don't have shoes in Canada?

The Adamantium grafts are holding up well at least.

Thanks for noticing. They hurt me terribly at first. But when the healing factor kicked in, all was well.

Great for gardening, peeling potatoes, lulz with fingernails on the blackboard.

Oh, and I got free steak knives, too (superfluous, of course - but I appreciated the gesture).

I'm on the waiting list. No, really.

The shoe thing is more my own fault.

Did you learn-yo'self how to run yet?!?
