You can't judge a movie by its name, especially if it might just be a working title at this point. Yeah, a lot of action films turn out to be pure crap, but there's hope that with MMA guys involved the fight scenes might actually be realistic.

I just IMDBed this movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1144797/), and while you could state "from the director of Left Behind II, Tribulation Force (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283644/), I will say this:
the other 2 movies that had GSP in them, Hell's Chain (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345475/) and Never Surrender (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307989/), were also directed by his co-star, Hector Echavarria (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0248373/).

At least this director, Bill Corcoran, has been in the business for almost 30 yrs and has over 70 other TV and movie directing credits.

So at least it won't be just a vanity piece for Echavarria.

Uhm it's not just the names. I saw those "live" videos and they SUCKED! The movie is made by people with next to no understanding of MMA and actors with no understanding of acting... I mean did you SEEEEEE the end scene? Just a TKD demo!

Even if a slightly less laughable title is chosen (IIRC the last movie I saw Rampage in was called "Midnight Meat Train") do you think that it's good for the sport ? C'mon, hasn't the underground-fight-to-the-death-secret-tournament been done enough by the various TMA's ?

If you want to watch realistic fights I suggest you check out a show called UFC Wired or UFC Unleashed it's usually on about 3 nights a week if not more. I don't see how seisure inducing quick editing or out of focus camera work can improve on MMA style fights.

I'm not trying to break balls here. (read : plz don't ban me) I seriously concider any reference to ILLEAGAL MMA or references to deliberate fatalities to be bad for MMA overall. If the movie does draw additional viewers to the sport the overwhelming majority of them will be bitching about how the real fights aren't as good as the movie ones.

We're not really the banning types around here, don't sweat it. The core idea behind the site is that you should be able to call BS on anyone and everything when it's deserved, and that includes the staff.

All I want is a sport-based mma movie, or for manga at least something like hajime no ippo version of mma, is that too much to ask? honestly, this whole thing about "underground illegal mma tournament" plot is making me sick....

What is this, the '80s? We've moved on to realism, people, even in our action movie tastes. What... the hell.
