Ever since this video came out last year I was trying to figure out if Rivers Cuomo was actually doing some manner of CMA or just jenking in the park and on a trampoline.
Anyone?

My first instinct was it was Bagua, but I wasn't sure.

Qigong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qigong). It's a non-martial fitness thing that Chinese people do, kind of like a gentle form of yoga.

Thanks Jack.
I had read he began studying Vipassana (http://www.dhamma.org/) a few years ago and didn't think this was the same thing.
You rule, as always.

Uh ...
..
... Really?
It looks to me like he's doing the generic "sun salutation" sequences used in many things from India, China, and Japan.
I don't now how/whether the trampoline fits into this.

Best I could tell it was filmed at a Chinese Cultural Center.......in Los Angeles most likely

I guess Spike Jones was too busy to direct a video?

It's the morning qigong routine one sees in parks wherever Chinese communities are found, including my neighborhood. A popular variation is called the 'Wild Goose' qigong set:

... which is often used as a warmup before morning taiji, as per this:
YouTube - PART 1/4: Hung I Hsiang (BBC Documentary) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ4t7mWdKsw)
I don't know if the Japanese do the same thing, but the Indian Surya Namaskara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surya_Namaskara) (Sun Salutation) is a floor exercise used as a warmup for yoga:

My practice remixes these two: I do an Indian-style Sun Salutation as a warmup for my morning taiji.

That's new to me too.
