more occultish than ninjer elemental/demon summoning bullshit? any links or other info you can PM me?
I didn't find anything good on a very basic google search, but I can give some examples. As lame as it is, I'll reference Fight Quest, when they talk about the "dark side of Silat practiced in villages", where they practice some shamanistic kata type stuff are used to focus practitioners into trances so they don't feel pain, then put on demos where they hurt themselves. Steve Tarani also talks about some superstitions about particular kris knives. Some are said to be able to cure the common cold, or kill a man for stabbing their shadow, or in the hands of the owner its really light but if anyone else holds it its really heavy. Perhaps not as occult but still with some supernatural components is the karambit. Its also called the kuku bima or kuku hanuman meaning claw of bima or hanuman, deities with a protruding claw in their hand. Those are the only specific things I can think of, but I've heard a number of people reference occult practices in silat from people like James Keating.
Here's a youtube clip from the Fight Quest episode:
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_bEgMqPudU)
If you're interested in looking up the supernatural components of silat you might want to look up kebatinan. Its not crazy demon summoning occult stuff, but its a start if you want to know more.
