I came across the following web site. http://www.dhmo.org/

What it has to report on the dangerous chemical DHMO is rather disturbing. I didn't realize that its use was so widespread and that the government appears to be covering up the dangers of its use.

From the website:

mong the many commonly-sited DHMO-related environmental impacts are:

* DHMO contributes to global warming and the "Greenhouse Effect", and is one of the so-called "greenhouse gasses."

* DHMO is an "enabling component" of acid rain -- in the absence of sufficient quantities of DHMO, acid rain is not a problem.

* DHMO is a causative agent in most instances of soil erosion -- sufficiently high levels of DHMO exacerbate the negative effects of soil erosion.

* DHMO is present in high levels nearly every creek, stream, pond, river, lake and reservoir in the U.S. and around the world.

* Measurable levels of DHMO have been verified in ice samples taken from both the Arctic and Antarctic ice caps.

* Recent massive DHMO exposures have lead to the loss of life and destruction of property in California, the Mid-West, the Philippines, and a number of islands in the Caribbean, to name just a few.

I think it is really important that this dangerous chemical be looked much closer and that our public officials be held responsible for their lack of concern for the health of its citizens.

That's pretty funny.

And when I was in junior high, I would have thought it was HILARIOUS.

That reminds me of the Man Show sketch where they were protesting Women's Suffrage. And they got women to sign their petition.

Not to mention that ingestion causes frequent urination and even, if too much is consumed, death!

OMG! WE MUST STOP THIS!

...lollercoaster.

Based on several surveys at a major Us university chemistry class, support for the ban of DHMO was supported.

Report: 90700
Title: Notre Dame DHMO Study
Organization: General Chemistry class
Dept. of Chemistry & Biochemistry
University of Notre Dame
South Bend, Indiana
Researchers: Jerry T. Godbout, Ph.D.
Steve Carroll
Date: September 2000
Results:
Survey conducted as part of Gen Chem 1 class at the University of Notre Dame, revealed that a general ban of DHMO is supported by a majority of students.

After hearing about Dihydrogen Monoxide, including performing online research, respondents were asked whether or not they would support a ban of DHMO. The results of the survey are:

Should Dihydrogen Monoxide be banned? Fall 2000
Support ban of DHMO 59%
Against ban of DHMO 41%
Undecided or no opinion 0%

A previous Notre Dame study conducted as part of a Gen Chem 2 class in Spring 2000, resulted in the following opinions:

Should Dihydrogen Monoxide be banned? Spring 2000
Support ban of DHMO 86%
Against ban of DHMO 14%
Undecided or no opinion 0%

Survey conditions were informal, and further follow-up studies are planned.

Yeah, I remember hearing this thing way back in grade 6 (2000). It was pretty funny, but it's rather sad that a bunch of students don't understand what dihydrogen monoxoide is. I guess they failed at nomenclature.

Forget about nomenclature! They don't even know what the word means!!!

Good lord, they should sterilize every last one of those people that wanted to ban DHMO

The three funniest listed dangers:

# Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
# Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
# Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.

So, I guess I won't be taking general chem over at Notre dame then?

I heard it's everywhere. You can't get away from it. It's even in our homes and our own bodies!

I don't know why not. Sounds like it would be pretty easy to beat the curve.

The worst part is that it is highly addictive! People who go cold turkey in their effort to quit usually die! I mean, how nasty is that?!?!?!

I prefer my DHMO filtered from the tap rather than bottled. Free the DHMO.
