He was drunk, tried to hit on the girl I was with, and then he went home.

I consider him "mostly harmless".

He also demonstrated his snake style along with various other patterns and wing-chun specific moves.

Since their is no "snake" componant in Wing Chun that means he must be claiming knowledge of multiple martial arts.

I asked him about that too as I was curious... He said that the third form in WC or something has snake style components?

He's white, and I have been able to locate his school via the internet after doing a name search.

So he's "real" USA style WC.

My friend also reminded me just now that the WC instructor mentioned he also danced in Shanghai for women and they paid him a lot of money to take off a few clothing items while he did kung fu.

I guess the snake part idea comes from sticking to the person.
But then again I don't know much about Wing Chun.

*USELESS THREAD ALERT!*

MA instructors contrary to what is usually believed are capable of getting drunk and hitting on girls. The smart ones do it when they're not wearing a gi however.

yo, he was trying to show your girlfriend his "trouser snake."

Lucky you. If he had demonstrated his 'Drunken kung fu,' you'd be in the hospital today. ;)

And if you had done SCARS you would be in the hospital?

I'm remembering the 3rd form in Wing Chun and bui gee (sp) has a lot of finger poking and arm extention however in the Wing Chun community I have never heard of animals being used to describe various movements or forms. This leads to two possibilities 1) he comes off one of the smaller offshoots that had nothing to do with Yip Man, or 2) he is a half trained bullshit artist. The chances favor #2 more then #1.

Wing Chun Stripping Fist...lol

Choking Fist is taught in some lineages apparently. But then again I could be wrong.

Samuel Browning - Yeah I gotta agree. WC was supposed to move away from that stuff I gather.

Wing Chun is a style based on other styles...among them Snake and Crane (which is our schools emblam)..

I believe those are two of the major influences on the WC system.

This guy was a tool, therefore Wing Chun totally sucks.

WC is supposedly based on snake and crane by the mythology of Ng Mui. She formed the style by watching a snake and crane fighting each other. Hence, that is how some people present WC. Most of the WC community do not believe in the snake and crane story. My sifu tells both sides of the story and believes it is up to you to decide. He believes it was not based on the snake and crane. So I will leave it up to you.

I believe Wing Chun was based on the snake and crane story. After all, a crane swallowing a dead garden snake looks an awful lot like a romo chugging cock, which is basically what Wing Chun is all about.
