Jan 31, i'm hopefully competing in the "shootfighting" division at the battle of florida (http://www.battleofthearts.com/kickoff.html). The rules look rather restrictive but I figure it will provide a good intro to MMA competition and the entrance fee is pretty cheap. Anyone in Florida wanna let me sleep on their couch the previous night?
I would if I still lived in Florida. What city are you fighting at?
Hmm, this is the first I've heard of this event. Will there be videos and a review of the event after you participate in it?
That Joey Zaino on the online flyer looks like a young Ashida Kim.
Hmm, you're right. Pilates, Lampshade, Jailbait, Cuisinart, and Beer Money! GO JOE!
If the girl in the middle is older than sixteen, it's a fake ID.
And no, you can't sleep on my couch.
Sounds like the kind of tournament i'd like to enter before jumping into a full MMA bout. Let us know how u go.
Goju - Joe
It sounds a lot like sport jiu jitsu
Is there a time limit on the ground?
just for reference:
Today the Zaino's are involved in two independent documentary/reality films. "Born to Compete" - the movie which is the story of a unique martial arts family who face head-on all the trials and tribulations of competing and performing in the martial arts industry today and "Warriors Quest" - modern day masters unleashed which is a tribute to the modern masters of the ancient arts, their beauty, lethal potential, history and present status. Both films are produced by Danny Zaino and directed by Richard Hackworth. Much of the filming will be done at promotional seminars held at various schools throughout the country. If you are interested in having your school become involved in this exciting project contact: Danny and Theresa Zaino at 561-575-5425 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Richard Hackworth at: MartialArtsRadio@hotmail.com.
Hackworth is involved with these people and has been the subject of several investigations on this site:
